Message From The President | Hickman, Mackowiak Honored | Loving President Lincoln | Bicentennial Gala | Reunion Activities
The Bicentennial Pre-Commencement Convocation The annual pre-commencement convocation at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall was anything but ordinary this year. The graduating class of 2007 was joined by more than 300 faculty, alumni representatives from virtually every class with a surviving member, our three surviving dean emeriti, delegates from the four medical schools founded before Maryland, and the president of the Association of American Medical Colleges. In addition, participants were treated to an address by Abraham Verghese, MD, a best-selling author and founding director of the center for medical humanities and ethics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
